Refund, Cancellation & Postponement Policy

This policy applies to Tickets booked through Spotlyte. Refunds are available only when an Event is cancelled or postponed, except where applicable law requires otherwise. Spotlyte processes all eligible refunds under this policy.

1. Core refund rule

1.1.A User is eligible for a refund only when the booked Event is cancelled or postponed, unless mandatory law requires a refund in another circumstance.
1.2.A Ticket is not refundable because of change of mind, personal inability to attend, illness, travel disruption, late arrival, mistaken booking, duplicate booking caused by the User, weather affecting travel, or failure to satisfy Event Rules.
1.3.A change in performer, speaker, supporting act, programme, seating layout, access route, venue within the same city or region, or Event timing that does not amount to cancellation or postponement does not automatically create refund eligibility.

2. Cancelled Events

2.1.An Event is cancelled when the Organiser confirms that it will not take place and no replacement date is being offered as a postponement.
2.2.After Spotlyte receives and verifies the cancellation notice, Spotlyte will notify affected Users and initiate eligible refunds to the original payment method.
2.3.The paid Ticket amount for the cancelled Event will be refunded. The treatment of any separately disclosed convenience, platform, payment processing, delivery, or other fee will follow the checkout disclosure and applicable law.
2.4.A User ordinarily does not need to submit a separate refund request for a fully cancelled Event unless Spotlyte's cancellation notice asks for additional information.

3. Postponed Events

3.1.An Event is postponed when the Organiser moves it to a later date or suspends it while intending to announce a replacement date.
3.2.Unless the postponement notice states otherwise, the existing Ticket remains valid for the rescheduled Event.
3.3.A User who does not wish to attend the rescheduled Event may request a refund through the method and within the deadline stated in Spotlyte's postponement notice.
3.4.A refund request submitted after the communicated deadline may be declined unless applicable law requires acceptance or Spotlyte and the Organiser approve an exception.
3.5.Where the replacement date has not yet been announced, Spotlyte may provide a reasonable request window after the new date is communicated.

4. How Spotlyte processes refunds

4.1.Spotlyte processes all eligible refunds. Users should not send bank details or pay a fee to an Organiser, venue, or third party to receive a Spotlyte refund.
4.2.Refunds are normally sent to the original payment method used for the Order. Spotlyte may request verification where the original method is unavailable, the payment was split, or the transaction presents a fraud or compliance concern.
4.3.Spotlyte will communicate the estimated initiation and bank-credit timeline in the cancellation or postponement notice, refund confirmation, or support response.
4.4.After Spotlyte initiates a refund, the receiving bank, card network, UPI app, wallet, or payment provider controls the final credit time. Banking holidays, technical issues, closed accounts, and provider checks may cause delay
4.5.A refund may appear under the payment gateway, merchant, or transaction description associated with Spotlyte rather than the Event name.

5. Refund amount and deductions

5.1The refund confirmation will show the amount initiated. The paid Ticket amount is refundable for an eligible cancellation or timely postponement request.
5.2Separately disclosed convenience, platform, payment processing, or delivery charges are refundable only where the checkout terms state they are refundable or applicable law requires refund.
5.3Spotlyte will not deduct an undisclosed cancellation charge from an attendee refund.
5.4Where only part of an Order is affected, the refund may be limited to the affected Ticket, session, day, or component
5.5Discounts, credits, coupons, or promotional benefits may be reversed or restored in accordance with the offer terms. Cash will not be paid for a free Ticket or an unused promotional value.

6. Events changed but not cancelled or postponed

6.1.The Organiser may make reasonable operational changes, including to supporting acts, programme order, venue layout, entry gate, Event duration, or timing. These changes do not create a refund right unless the Organiser or Spotlyte classifies the Event as cancelled or postponed or applicable law requires otherwise.
6.2.Where a change may materially affect Attendees, Spotlyte may notify Users based on information supplied by the Organiser.

7. Denied entry, removal, and no-shows

7.1.No refund is available where an Attendee does not attend, arrives after permitted entry, leaves early, loses access to a Ticket through their own actions, or is refused admission or removed for breaching Event Rules or applicable law.
7.2.A genuine Ticket validation error should be reported immediately to Event staff and Spotlyte support so the booking and scan records can be reviewed.
7.3.If admission was wrongly refused despite a valid Ticket and full compliance with Event Rules, Spotlyte may investigate with the Organiser. Any remedy will depend on the verified facts, applicable law, and the Organiser's responsibility for admission.

8. Tickets obtained outside Spotlyte

8.1Spotlyte can process only payments collected through Spotlyte or its authorised payment partners.
8.2.A Ticket purchased from an unauthorised reseller, another marketplace, the Organiser directly, or a third party is subject to that seller's refund process. Spotlyte is not responsible for counterfeit or unauthorised Tickets.

9. Chargebacks and duplicate recovery

9.1.Before raising a bank chargeback, contact Spotlyte support so the cancellation, postponement, or payment issue can be reviewed.
9.2.A User must not obtain both a Spotlyte refund and a chargeback or other duplicate reimbursement for the same payment. Spotlyte may contest or recover a duplicate credit.
9.3.Fraudulent refund claims, false documents, chargeback misuse, or repeated abuse may lead to account restriction and disclosure to payment providers or lawful authorities.

10. Failed, returned, or missing refunds

10.1.If a refund fails because the original account is closed, restricted, or technically unavailable, contact support with the Order reference and refund confirmation.
10.2.Spotlyte may require identity, account ownership, bank, or payment verification before using an alternative lawful refund method.
10.3.A User who does not see a refund after the communicated bank-credit period should first check the original payment statement and then contact support with the refund reference.

11. Policy changes

11.1.Spotlyte may update this policy prospectively. An update will not remove a refund already confirmed under the version applicable to a cancelled or postponed Event.

12. Refund support and grievances
